Brazilian Butt Lift
A Brazilian butt lift refers to a specialized fat transfer cosmetic surgery procedure that enhances the shape and size of the posterior without the use of implants.
Excess fat is taken from the abdomen, hips, thighs, or lower back with liposuction and a portion of this fat is then strategically injected into the butt.
An experienced plastic surgeon can enhance the proportions of the entire lower body with Brazilian butt lift surgery. This enables the patient to lose fat in common “problem areas” and augment the rear, with outcomes sustaining for many years to come.
Why have a Brazilian Butt Lift?
The shape and proportion of the buttock are primarily determined by genetics. The skeletal structure, as well as how the body stores fat impacts the lower body’s appearance.
A balanced diet and exercise regimen can help a person accomplish a healthy body weight and tone muscles. However, many patients remain displeased with a “flat” butt that lacks shape, despite following a healthy lifestyle.
Brazilian buttock lift plastic surgery can overcome the effects of genetics by reshaping the rear and surrounding areas, such as the lower back, hips, and thighs. A Brazilian butt lift can effectively:
- Augment the lower body curves
- Reduce fatty deposits on the thighs, hips, or belly while adding fullness to the butt
- Enables clothing to fit more appealingly
- Provides a more youthful, cosmetically attractive shape to flat buttocks
- Improve the overall proportions by creating a better balance between the upper and lower body
Am I an Ideal Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian butt lift can be an effective option to enhance the shape and size of the buttocks. But some patients are better suited to the surgical procedure.
It is vital to have reasonable expectations about the procedure, recovery, and outcomes. Generally, good candidates for Brazilian butt lift surgery have the following qualities:
- Seeking buttock enhancement without implants
- Have good skin tone in the buttocks and hips
- Have sufficient fat stores in other sites to harvest for injection into the buttocks
- Willingness and ability to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks for many weeks
A Brazilian butt lift is not a traditional “lifting” procedure, despite its name. It does not correct loose skin on the butt. For people who are unhappy about excess, loose skin on the rear or thighs, thigh and buttock lift surgery may be a more appropriate option.
Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Buttock Implants
A significant benefit of Brazilian butt lift surgery is that it enhances the size of the buttocks without implants. The procedure has a low risk for complications in the hands of a highly trained plastic surgeon who undertakes the procedure in an accredited facility.
But it the patient is very lean, they may not have sufficient fat to harvest. In such cases, buttock implants may be the only technique to achieve their desired size increase. For some patients, buttock implants may be a good option.
But it is vital to understand that butt implants are associated with additional risks, such as capsular contracture and a higher risk for infection development.
