WHAT HAPPENS DURING SURGERY/RECOVERY?
During a labiaplasty, extra tissue is removed and the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. You are able to go home the same day.
You should expect to have some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the area, and possibly some burning with urination. This usually subsides significantly in a few days, but may take a few weeks to completely resolve. We ask that you perform sitz baths several times a day to ensure that the area stays clean while it is healing. The labia have excellent blood supply and tend to heal quickly with very minimal scarring.
